sulfite allergy and sulfa allergy
I want to drink some tonite but have a sulfite allergy, anyone else have this? If so what alcohol can I drink?
I get chest pains from certain alcohol (some wine coolers, some rum) even had a asthma attack once and had to go to hospitol, they said it was prob the smoke, even though I am allergic to sulfa drugs (you think they coulda figured that out)
Sulfides are used in wines as a stabilizer to prevent secondary fermentation, Some wines may not have sulfates but to be safe stay away from wine. This is also the case for some juice products, so check the label. hard liquor with water, cola or pure juice with no additives. mixing hard liquor with sweet soft drinks or any sweet mixer increases the amount of alcohol that gets to your blood stream.
